Chandelier Cell

This pieces is inspired by and named after a rare type of neuron in the brain known as the chandelier cell. These neurons act as careful regulators, keeping other cells from firing too much and helping the brain stay in balance. When they falter, that balance can break, creating disruption within the mind’s electrical rhythms that can in turn lead to uncontrollable physical responses.

In this sculpture, the chandelier becomes both a symbol of light and control. Its single glowing bulb represents the nucleus, the quiet pulse that keeps the system alive and steady. Like the neurons it mirrors, Chandelier Cell reflects the fragile harmony that allows thought, memory, and consciousness to flow without chaos.
